Go beyond a basic pump-out to protect your drain field and extend the life of your entire system.
A pump-out removes the bulk of the sludge and scum from your tank. That is the most important step. But a pump-out alone does not address the film that builds up on the tank walls, the grease that clings to the baffles, or the debris that gradually clogs the effluent filter. A full cleaning tackles all of that. The result is a tank that drains properly, a filter that flows freely, and a drain field that receives only the liquid it was designed to handle.
Most modern septic systems have an effluent filter at the outlet. Its job is to catch suspended solids before they leave the tank and enter the drain field. Over time, the filter collects enough material to restrict flow. A restricted filter slows drainage in the house. If left unchecked, it can back up entirely or force unfiltered effluent to bypass into the drain field through older, unfiltered outlets.
AAA Septic Systems removes the filter, cleans it on site, inspects it for damage, and reinstalls it during the same visit as the pump-out. One reviewer specifically noted that AAA pumped the tanks, cleaned the filter and verified the entire system in a single appointment.
The most efficient approach is combining a filter cleaning with a scheduled pump-out. The tank is already open, the crew is on site, and the filter is accessible. For most homeowners, that means every 3 to 5 years. If you notice slow drains between scheduled pump-outs, the filter may need attention on its own. AAA Septic Systems can check it without a full pump-out if the tank has access risers installed.
Concrete septic tanks develop a coating on their interior walls over the years. This coating can harbor bacteria that produce hydrogen sulfide, which is the source of the rotten-egg smell and can corrode concrete over time. Flushing the walls during a cleaning removes that layer, slows corrosion, and gives the crew a clear look at the condition of the concrete. Cracks, root intrusion and baffle deterioration are much easier to spot on a clean wall.
Call AAA Septic Systems to add filter and tank cleaning to your next pump-out or schedule a standalone visit.
