Septic services
The single most important maintenance step for any residential septic system in Brandon and Rankin County.
A septic tank collects all the wastewater from your home. Heavier solids settle to the bottom as sludge, lighter fats and oils float to the top as scum, and the liquid in between flows out to the drain field. Over time, sludge and scum accumulate faster than bacteria can break them down. A pump-out removes that buildup before it reaches the outlet baffle and starts pushing solids into the drain field, where they can clog the soil and cause the system to fail.
AAA Septic Systems arrives at the scheduled time (Josh calls ahead so you know when to expect the crew), locates the tank access, opens the lid or riser, and pumps the contents into the service truck. While the tank is open, the crew inspects the baffles, checks the condition of the tank walls, and looks for any signs of damage or root intrusion. Once the inspection is done, they close everything up and leave the area clean.
Most residential septic tanks need pumping every 3 to 5 years. The actual interval depends on the size of your tank, the number of people in the household, and how much water you use. A 1,000 gallon tank serving four people may need service closer to every 3 years, while a larger tank serving two people could go 5 years between pump-outs. AAA Septic Systems can tell you what your tank looks like during the pump-out and recommend a schedule that fits your property.
The truck needs to get within reach of the tank, so make sure the crew can drive onto the property and that the tank area is accessible. The job typically takes under an hour for a standard residential system. You do not need to be home, but the crew needs clear access to the tank lid. If your tank is buried without risers, there will be some digging to reach the access point. One customer called AAA on Monday morning and the crew was there before lunch, which gives a good picture of typical scheduling turnaround.
Call AAA Septic Systems and the team will get you on the schedule. Josh calls ahead before every appointment.
